Pendulums are commonly used in scrying, a form of divination where a pendulum, often a crystal or weighted object, is suspended from a chain or string and allowed to swing freely.  Practitioners use the pendulum’s movements to gain insights, answer questions, or tap into their subconscious mind.  The direction and pattern of the pendulum’s swings are interpreted to provide yes or no answers, guidance, or to locate objects.  This method is valued for its simplicity and the belief that it can connect the user to intuitive or spiritual energies.
